From the Purge to the Surge

The Surge.

What this house is building, and how you can be part of it.

Two Campaigns

Two commitments. Two separate funds.

There are two campaigns running, and they are not the same fund. Each has its own purpose, its own timeline, and its own goal of $150,000. Giving to one is not giving to the other, and no one is asked to give to both.

Hope Shelters.

60 emergency shelter beds. 15 recuperative care beds. 365 nights a year. Embassy Metro Detroit made a $150,000 commitment and that investment has already been made. This campaign restores those funds.

Embassy Metro Detroit

EMD Building Capital Campaign.

We grew into this building, and now we are growing out of it. The EMD Building Capital Campaign is Phase I. It funds what must happen before construction can begin: environmental assessments, inspections, legal services, and architectural planning.

Make a pledge and fulfill it on your own schedule, or give a one-time gift. Both go to the same fund.

The building is not the vision. It is a tool entrusted to the vision.

Pledges fulfilled by December 1, 2026.

Say This Verbatim

Two separate campaigns, two separate funds. Giving to one is not giving to the other, and no one is asked to give to both.

Hope Shelters
The Work

The people behind the numbers.

Hope Shelters isn't a line item — it's beds, doctors, nurses, and dignity for people at the moment their world falls apart.

60
Emergency shelter beds
15
Recuperative care beds
365
Nights a year
Step 1

Rescue

Meeting people at the moment of crisis with a warm bed and a way in.

Step 2

Restore

Recuperative care, medical oversight, and dignity while people find their footing.

Step 3

Reintegrate

Wraparound support that walks with people from survival into stability.

A Medical Director and a nurse are now on staff. A new facility on Baldwin is in development with private rooms and services under one roof.

EMD Building Capital Campaign
Phase I

What Phase I funds.

Before a single wall goes up, four things have to be done well. The EMD Building Capital Campaign funds all four.

Foundation 01

Environmental assessments

The soil, the site, the systems — surveyed before anything is drawn.

Foundation 02

Inspections

Every existing structure and system evaluated by qualified experts.

Foundation 03

Legal services

Contracts, permits, zoning — handled the right way, from the start.

Foundation 04

Architectural planning

Drawings and design that translate the vision into buildable form.

The building is not the vision. It is a tool entrusted to the vision.

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions people ask.

Both campaigns are $150,000 — are they the same fund?

No. Two separate campaigns, two separate funds. Giving to one is not giving to the other, and no one is asked to give to both. Hope Shelters restores what Embassy Metro Detroit already invested. The EMD Building Capital Campaign funds Phase I — assessments, inspections, legal, and architectural planning.

Can I give to both?

You can, but there is no expectation that you will. Give as the Lord leads to whichever campaign He puts on your heart.

Can I set up a recurring gift?

Yes — SecureGive supports recurring gifts for Hope Shelters. The EMD Building Capital Campaign is a pledge campaign; you set the total commitment and the schedule to fulfill by December 1, 2026.

Are we buying a new building?

The EMD Building Capital Campaign funds Phase I — assessments, inspections, legal, and architectural planning. It funds what has to happen before construction can begin. The building is a tool entrusted to the vision, not the vision itself.

What happened to the gala?

There is no gala this year. The gala isn't tied to Hope Shelters or the EMD Building Capital Campaign — it stands on its own when it runs. Additional ECDC giving opportunities are forthcoming and will be announced through the Dispatch.

I didn't get a Connect invitation.

Email embassy@embassycovenant.org and we'll re-send it. Check your spam folder first — the invite comes from a KBN-branded sender.

When does the church app launch?

The preview build is live now (link above). Full launch is targeted for Q4 2026, in step with the digital brand rollout.

Take the Next Step

One house. Both hands to the plow.

Give where the Lord leads. Serve where He calls. Every gift, every hand, matters.
